Royston bringing advanced monitoring tech to SMM
Advanced fuel monitoring and energy management technology, designed to deliver significant cost benefits for vessel operators, will be among the key attractions on the Royston diesel power SMM stand (B1.0G.501).
Royston, an internationally based company operating in the global maritime sector for over 40 years, is an authorised representative for Niigata, GE, Yanmar, Volvo Penta, Scania, Napier Turbochargers.
With bases in the UK, Australia and West Africa, it works closely with customer fleets carrying out engine replacement or maintenance, repair and overhaul activities on the full range of diesel equipment – including genuine spares and expertise for Wartsila, Caterpillar and other engine types.
As an innovator in its market, the company has developed a range of engine monitoring systems and in particular, the enginei Electronic Fuel Management System, to enable shipping operators to control its fuel cost.
The enginei system accurately records fuel consumption data by individual engines, with data presented on touchscreen monitors on the bridge and in engine control rooms. The system remotely sends information from ship to shore where it can be accessed through a simple web dashboard and GPS mapping to show a vessel’s full operational profile and to enable maximum operating efficiencies to be maintained.
Damian McCann, product manager, said SMM enables Royston to showcase its innovative capabilities: “Our advanced monitoring technologies and diagnostic solutions for propulsion systems, help our customers to optimise vessel performance in changing environmental and cost driven marine landscape.”
